Who is Chef Brad?
Chef Brad Petersen is a native of Arizona. Born and raised in the White Mountains, he started his career early in the food business. By the age of 9, he was doing the majority of the cooking for his family. By the age of 13, he had started working in a local coffee shop as a busboy. He did that for several years working his way around all parts of the restaurant business. By the age of 18, he was comfortable in all areas of the food and beverage industry. At the age of 19, he left the White Mountains to serve a mission in the Caribbean for two years. He loved the food there and spent as much time as he could learning the local recipes. The time spent in the Caribbean impacted his cooking with a wonderful flare of the Caribbean and a love for the Spanish language and people. After his mission, he returned to the White Mountains for a brief time and then relocated to the Phoenix area. He jumped right into the restaurant business again doing all jobs from waiting tables, bartending, banquets, cook, management, catering and consulting.
For years, he has owned his own catering business and kitchen store where he has gained an excellent reputation as a Chef. His food is unique and fresh. His greatest love is of grains. He has devoted the last 10 years to the study of grains and has developed and written two cookbooks dealing with “Those Wonderful Grains.” He has a passion for teaching and education. He travels all over teaching the many things he has learned about nutrition and health. He has developed a wonderful following in the Phoenix area were he is respected and admired for his gift of making healthy food taste great and inspiring others to eat better and enjoy time spent in the kitchen.
Currently, he travels as a motivational speaker, owns his own business—Chef Brad Events, operates a wonderful expanding internet business, and a teaching center, is working on a motivational book about cooking and co-authoring another cookbook on nutrition. He has a new mini series of cookbooks coming out in the next few months. He teaches one to six classes each week; and also serves a “Family Food Consultant.” With all this, he still finds time to spend with his family. He also enjoys gardening, public service and oil painting.
Chef Brad has appeared on television, radio and newspaper. He has done QVC commercials, radio commercials, and writes articles for magazines. He is passionate and full of energy. He is a gifted teacher and loves people. One of his greatest loves is for food and he believes in creating “Fond Food Memories” whenever possible.
Chef Brad’s love for grains and food has made him a leading authority on grains and the history of grains. He believes strongly that America is ready for a change and is starving for knowledge on how to eat better and be healthier. He believes strongly that almost all of the health problems we are faced with today are a result of our poor eating habits. His belief is that “healthy can taste great” and has proven that it can time and time again.
Chef Brad’s mission statement is to “Inspire people to get back into the kitchen and enjoy creating “Fond Food Memories” eating healthy foods that taste great.”
